ABOUT YOUR FIT CHEF

Nutrition Coaching, Meal Prep and More...

I started meal prepping for a couple of clients in 2020 during the covid lockdown after getting laid off from my Executive Chef position left me facing an uncertain future career-wise. Early in 2021 I officially created Your Fit Chef with the goal of offering individuals and families a healthy option to take out and fast food. Since then, I've expanded my offerings to include catering, cooking classes and nutrition coaching.

About Me

A classically trained chef with 40 years of wide ranging experience and certified nutrition coach. I've worked in pizzerias, small and large restaurants, corporate dining, as a private chef, instructor and I've sold seafood. I'm well versed in dietary and nutrition trends and fads and can help you figure out what will and won't work for you.

Meal Prep

If you're an individual or family within my service area I offer a rotating menu that includes breakfast items, main course salads and selection of entrees. Items are customizable to fit your dietary needs and you can also build your own meals from a selection of proteins, sides and sauces. Everything is prepared fresh with minimal added salt and fat and most items are, or can be made, dairy and gluten free. I don't use seed oils, you can read why on my Blog.

So if your busy and don't have time to cook dinner or prepare lunch to bring to work or just want a break a couple of nights a week without resorting to take out get in touch. I provide service to the area in and around The Woodlands, Texas.

Nutrition Coaching

Whether your trying to lose weight, change your body composition, have a performance or fitness oriented goal or just want to be healthier, nutrition coaching can provide you the support and accountability you need to be successful. Using the principals of flexible dieting and evidence based nutrition, I can help you make sustainable changes and learn to manage your nutrition. No restrictive diets, no set meals plans with a list of what you can and can't eat, just sensible guidelines that will get you where you want to be with a little commitment and effort on your part. If you're interested in learning more and ready to take the next step, fill out and submit this short form and I'll be in touch.

What is Flexible Dieting?

Flexible dieting, also known as IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros), is a nutritional approach that focuses on tracking macronutrient intake (proteins, carbohydrates, and fats) rather than strictly adhering to a rigid diet plan. It emphasizes achieving specific macronutrient targets while allowing for a wider variety of food choices, promoting sustainability and a healthier relationship with food.

Key aspects of flexible dieting:

  • Macronutrient Tracking: Instead of focusing solely on calories, flexible dieting emphasizes the balance of protein, carbohydrates, and fats that best support individual goals.

  • Flexibility and Variety: It allows for a wider range of food choices as long as they fit within the calculated macronutrient targets, making it more sustainable and enjoyable.

  • Sustainability and Mindset: By reducing feelings of deprivation and restriction, flexible dieting can be more sustainable long-term, fostering a healthier relationship with food according to nutrition and fitness resources.

  • Focus on Goals: It is a tool for achieving specific body composition goals, like fat loss or muscle gain, by managing caloric intake and macronutrient ratios, according to health and fitness websites.

  • Informed Choices: It encourages individuals to become more aware of the nutritional content of their food and how it impacts their body, according to health and fitness websites.

  • Potential Downsides: It can lead to less nutrient-dense food choices if solely focused on macros, and may not be suitable for individuals with specific dietary restrictions or sensitivities.
